PRIMORDIAL BEGININGS
One day in 2020, Patrick Mediate texted his old college friend Aaron McLane: “I’m kicking this idea around, two sisters trapped by a cult.” Aaron replied: “Yeah, and they’re both werewolves.” What started as half a joke became their award-winning debut script, Daughters of the Moon.

Since then, Mediate and McLane have built a reputation as a bold writing duo, stacking up festival wins, acclaimed short films, Creepshow pitches, and feature-length scripts. In 2023, their company Primordial Pictures, alongside producer Ashley Robinson, made headlines when they pitched a 13 Ghosts television series to Sony. While the series never went forward, the buzz carried, fueling momentum into new projects, including pitching a Chopping Mall remake with Kelli Maroney attached to return.

By 2024, they partnered with Block of Horror to help design a fully immersive virtual horror world, complete with a video store stocked with Primordial IP. And in 2025 alone, they completed a television pilot and three feature-length scripts, all while navigating an industry in flux.

Undeterred, Primordial Pictures continues to push forward, developing original IP and resurrecting cult classics with a clear conviction: for them, it’s never a question of if....only when.
